The Lagro "SHAWARMA"

I honestly dont know the country where shawarma was originated, all I know is filipinos went gaga about this food craze way back the 90's.That even the famous eraserheads mentioned shawarma on one of their popular hit DRIVE.Anyway, those are the days.

Ive been hearing fuss about the Lagro Shawarma for over 2 years now.My collegues resides nearby Lagro says it was one of the best Shawarma in town.Out of curiosity I asked Robert to drive me all the way to Lagro to taste the famous middle eastern sandwich after my b-day.
garlic and chili sauce

And yes it never dissapoints my taste buds. The tasty beef strips, chopped tomato and onion, wrapped with pita bread just taste so good.Juicy yet tender it was cooked the way that I liked it.I ordered the beef shawarma special with cheese for P65.00 and all meat for Robertalso for P65.00.I also want to compliment the garlic sauce it has its own authentic taste.
Generally I reccomend the Tri Mo Shawarma in Lagro for cheap yet superb shawarma experience.
Not just shawarma. They are also selling street food (isaw) it taste very good too.
P.6.00 per isang stick

How to get there?
From Commonwealth Avenue in Fairview just ride a jeep with "Lagro Dulo" signage.
Just ask the driver to drop you off at Tri Mo Shawarma, it was very popular most residents knew it.

Kiss the Cook Gourmet Maginhawa St

Without any reservations prior me and my friends went to Kiss the cook Gourmet along Maginhawa ST in UP Village. The restaurant's atmosphere is sophisticated but at the same time , almost homey making Kiss the Cook Gourmet a very pleasant dining experience.I love the interior its like a classy restaurant. By the way we are seating on their comfy couch since we are the only customer at that time.I ordered the shrimp and jalapeno panini and spaghetti bolognese.
The Menu
Prices too, are reasonable for the quality, though certainly not cheap.I enjoyed the food. The staff are attentive and friendly. They will refilled your glass without you having to ask them.
nice interiors
After 15 minutes our food was served hot.I noticed the good plating of our food, it was very inviting meal.I always thought that bolognese was just simple tomato sauce but after I tasted this I now have different perspective hahaha.I can still remember the smell of the parmesan cheese and the herb fragrant.
good plating
bolognese cooked al dente
shrimp panini
happy tummy

After the sumptous early dinner we headed to I heart froyo. My second time visiting this froyo store in Magiting. Walking distance from Kiss the Cook Gourmet another great finds. I heart froyo serving frozen youghurt at very reasonable price. The only downside is they very limited tables other than that no complains with the staff, taste and the cost.

Boracay fish encounter

I promised myself not to leave Boracay without trying the famous helmet diving.
It was our third and final day at Boracay and  Im still persistent. I repeatedly asked Robert for us to give it a shot.He said he was tired but does he have a choice? Honestly he dont so it means I won! Yey!!!

Triumphantly we walked back to the shore. Mang dado gave us a better deal for Php400 we'll get  40 underwater pictures and video.

It was a five minutes boat ride from the shore before we reached the barged floating on the middle of the sea.The diver give us a brief reminder and how to use the heavy helmet.
OK lets get started...
feeding time

okay the fish covered my face 'sakto eh'
sakto nanaman
Fifteen minutes gone fast.I enjoyed feeding those fishes, it was a great experience, for me and Robert.Highly recommended and if I will be going back to Boracay I will surely do it again.

There are a lot of agencies in the island offering helmet diving. Just practice haggling!
Have a safe trip everyone =)

Boracay

An invitation from a good friend brought my itchy feet in the island of Boracay.
An owner of one of the backpacker hotel in the island is a an old colleague, ill get to stay in their place without paying anything.

Aboard the plane Im trying my best to hide my excitement since this is the first time ill visit the Visayan region, first time to get inside the airport and such.

I stayed in Villa Simprosa for 2 night and 3 days. I didnt pay anything for the room rental. My host was kind enough giving us one of their superior suite. It was a huge with bathroom and 2 double beds, color television and refrigerator.Sweet! Below is the picture of  our room.

our room at villa simprosa
Tourist and locals are everywhere.

an authorized vendor at Boracay

busy shore at Boracay
After a simple dinner at Mang Inasal. We went straight to the beach .While walking along the shore I removed my slippers so I can  feel the sands under my feet.No wonder it's voted as one of the beach beach in the world the sands are like powder, the atmosphere and the crowd that never sleeps.
to beat the heat ice cream time

The loud music caught my attention from afar.Out of curiosity we went straight to the bar with those fire dancers. They gracefully dance and  with one mistake sunog sila for sure.To get a better view I sat down on one of the couch in front of the dancers and ordered a glass of juice. The performance lasted for 30 minutes.
Boracay's Grotto
Paradise!water is crystal clear, turquoise when it's shallow, royal blue in the deep.Palm trees cast their soothing shade on the sunbathers.

Boracay nightlife is also vibrant and active. Acoustic bars, foreigners and fire dancers are everywhere the island.

Fire Dancer
To have a bits of excitement we went inside Hobbit House. An acoustic bar were the servers are all midgets, another round tequila sunrise for me and Robert. Then picture with Lady Gaga at D mall for P20.00.

Below are the photos  along the shore.

No wonder Boracay is always on the top list for the best beaches in the world and attracts millions of tourist every year, its beauty is incomparable.
P.S
Koreans enjoyed Boracay too!!

Johnny Rockets

The Menu
We were hesitant at first to enter at this resto, The crews was dancing inside. At nahihiya ako baka bigla akong pasayawin .hahaha!!But Yasoy insisted charged to experience daw so ok try naten.
Anyway the ambiance was ok generally clean, the music was quite loud for me but manageable. They played 50's, 60's its a plus factor for me. The best is pwede kang mamili ng kanta on the side parang mini jukebox na huhulugan ng piso.
The Piso Jukebox

I ordered the burger I mean humungous burger!!!! an laki pero ang mahal almost Php400.00. But i guessed that was ok kase its eat all you can fries naman great deal na yun.The milkshake has excellent taste too.
my expensive burger
the consolation

But overall it's indeed a great dining experience! Must try this burger house one of the best. The servings are big enough for two

Objectively : first experience is 7.5 to 8 out of 10
10 being the highest or most favorable…

PS: they served 3 different types of dips for the fries
Dips!

I love Banapple =)

Ive made a couple of visits at Banapple. The first branch I visited is at Il Terrazzo T. Morato. It was a simple date with a Yasoy, which turned out to be an amazing night.
anapple T. Morato
The food was great and the prices are very affordable. I tried the Lasagna Roll-up,Crunchy Chicken and Bell Pepper Sandwich and there famous Banoffee Pie.
Crunchy Chicken Sandwich

yours truly @ Banapple

The banoffee pie was good  and the crust is not too sweet. I enjoyed savoring its unique taste. It was my first time to eat Banoffee cake.
Banoffee Pie
There was really no problem with the food however they need bigger space. The location gets crowded and no time to linger on your table.

I highly recommend Banapple because of its reasonable, heavy and delicious foods
