Taste of Thai Jatujak

I am a self confessed japanese food lover, If you will check my previous post most of the restaurant i've visited served japanese cuisine. Not until last night. Now im torn :( between japanese and thai food.

Last night was awesome, after work I went staright to Sm North to meet my long time bestfriend May.She arrived last Wednesday from Singapore.A night beofre we meet we both agreed to dine out at Yakimix. Though I dont feel liked it but she insisted that she want a buffet dinner I the said yes.

Cold rainy Tuesday night at exactly 8pm I was standing in front of Jollibee inside Sm North. I easily recognized her because she was wearing a long skirt as usual. We had a little chat and I told her it was raining hard outside. Lazy me, I told her we can dine at yakimix some other time. Though I know she was dissapointed she agreed to me. Besides she went to the grocery so she has 3 big grocery bags, which will be uncomfortable for us. This time she suggested to eat thai food. I dont have any idea what so ever, thanks to my reliable phone and sm north free wifi , I was able to googled munch punch. The website has it's own list of all restaurant in the metro.
The I found Jatujak. Located inside 4th level The Block SM North Edsa.
inside jatujak

colorful ceiling me payong hehe
I was staring blankly on the menu, gosh i dont have any idea on what to order. The name of the food is so strange for me. Ofcourse except the Thai bagoong and thai ice tea. But this a whole new dining experience . I want to to spare myself in eating thai bagoong. Not today! I want to try something new. May decided to ordered for both us. I trusted her this time. =)

thai iced tea P75.00

Thai iced tea tastes like milk tea masarap pramis. The sweet blend of tea, milk and crush ice perfect.
crunchy catfish with mango salad

another angle

Crunchy catfish with mango salad. According to May this food was one of her personal favorite. It looks weird to me, but the taste was awesome. This is a perfect appetizer as in.
tom yum the best!

Next is Tom Yam, favorite ko na to. Again as per May this soup is the most popular soup in Thailand. Unique taste. May even requested to add some coco milk. The combination of herbs and spices makes this recipe extra special.
Pad Thai

Lastly, Pad thai isa pa etong winner recipe.Stir fried noodles with nuts, bean sprouts, egg tofu makes this taste unforgettable.Strongly recommended din to and swak sya sa panlasa ng pinoy because of sweet taste. After satisfying my tummy I think im craving for more Thai food!!!

FEATURING: Yakimix

Couple of months ago,I was spotting for a best deal restaurant.Google dito, google doon saan nga ba me masarap na buffet? I was contemplating between yakimix and red kimono but decided na sa yakimix na lang kase me branch sila sa T.Morato at accessible to.Buffet price Php580.00

I called yakimix in ahead of time para mag pa reserve but i guessed hindi masyadong organize ang mga staff that time when we arrived at 8:00pm, we still need to wait for nearly an hour para lang makaupo. Shet mamatay na ko sa gutom ahahah I skipped my usual merienda snacks para dito, pero medyo nahilo na ako sa tagal ng pag aantay.

Finally the long wait was over kung hinde oa ako pumasok sa loob to remind the receptionist siguro mga 10pm pa kami makakapasok.
beef,pork and sashimi

mga ingredients sa pag gawa ng sukiyaki soup

noodles, vegetables and sweet and sour

malungkot yung maki kase konti lang sila

tempura and Lechon kawali??

They served wide array of maki and sashimi. There was also cooked dishes if you can't wait for the food off the grill. They also have salad bar pero konti lang ang choices. The dessert was just ok. I mean so so selecta ice cream, cake from red ribbon and im not sure if it is cheesecake di kase lasanag cheesecake. And one more thing the staff are so mabagal. It took time before they will refill the maki and the tempura, pasara na nung nakakuha ako ng tempura :(
smokeless grill =)

tasteless yakiniku

finally my tempura with cupcakes

Overall, not fully satisfied.First,It took nearly an hour before we got seated. The staffs are so slow even when refilling dishes.Lastly,I think they need a bigger space. It gets so crowded na mahina na yung aircon.
cupcakes

colorful desserts

strawberry ice cream for dessert final na to

For the price, It's quite okay practically speaking for eat all u can ok na ang yakimix.
Me and my friend Yasoy enjoyed it somehow, natuwa naman kami mag grill. That was the most important yung bonding namin its another priceless moment.
good times =)

the quest for the yummiest burger!!! (Brothers Burger - The Burger Project)

Ang bilis talaga ng panahon pag gising ko tanghali na meaning day off ko na yey!! Lakad...lakad .... then ng magutom kami kain na.Sa totoo lang Robert is addicted to burger. As in!Walang Wham sa Trinoma so sabi nya brother's burger na lang daw.

Ok so umorder na kami. First thing Ive noticed mas expensive sya compared to Wham.Php 125.00 ang isang burger.Second was mas maliit yung burger nya, I mean yung patty and overall mas maliit sya. Lastly, wala syang lasa. Sorry if I sound so offensive pero wala talaga syang lasa so I will not recommend Brother's burger.I was waiting when I took the bite yung after taste ng grill patty but unfortunately I was disappointed.I felt liked sayang sana I drag Robert na lang to SM North, it was just a few steps away nasa Wham na kami, but Robert says ok lang yun at least we've tasted Brother's burger.

puro lettuce

The following day I asked Robert to come with me at Maginhawa.Lately, Ive been visiting Maginahawa ST In UP Vill.First it was in Quezon City tapos the neighbourhood was not crowded and loud.We can just parked along the street without hassle.

This time sinama ko si Robert to The Burger Project. A small yet cozy restaurant that served DIY burger. Cool yea?? My second time to this place, honestly I fell inlove with the concept of me creating my own burger. Why? because it really depend on my mood. Like tonight I felt like adding bbq sauce to my burger. While Robert choose diff variety of flavors. Di ko maintindihan ang gusto nya. hahaha!

my burger named after me

O diba walang effort sa pagpangalan sa burger

di kami dyan nakaupo

We both decided to sit outside, walang masyadong tao, walang maingay I can only hear yung mga traysikel na dumadaan. This is it. Ive been waiting for this moment really!
Dumating na yung onion rings Robert was excited to taste it.Masarap sya in fairness for P60.00 I think it's worth it. Couple of minutes more here comes the burger.Like what I've expected it was huge! Bigger than the quarter pounder of Mc Donalds.I cant wait to taste it but mainit pa so chill lang muna.

onion rings php65.00 big serving

Ive named my burger "Juy's yummy burger" and it believe me it was the yummiest burger Ive tasted. The patty was well done. The lettuce and tomatoes are fresh. The buns was soft and smells good. The cheese melts into the patty and to wrapped it all the bbq sauce was so perfect! I will definitely keep on coming back.

juy's yummy burger

Robert named his burger "robert's burger" walang ka effort effort. He added bbq sauce and bacon.Ang sabi lang ni Robert worth the wait and practical, especially pag sya ang kakain dahil he love burger too =)
